Fundraising for the Mountain Trust is incredibly valuable for the people of Nepal. The work of the Trust could not go on without the efforts of our many fundraisers from around the world. We welcome anyone with a contribution to make or an idea to share. Read more below.
There are all sorts of ways to raise funds to help the people of Nepal through The Mountain Trust. Marathons, sponsored events, volunteering, collection boxes, the list goes on. Individual supporters, like you, play a vital and growing role in enabling our work for some of the most disadvantaged people in Nepal. Take a look at some of the ways people have raised funds for The Mountain Trust in the past, here. Please contact us if you wish to fundraise.
Fundraising efforts of all kinds are welcome and we always endeavour to support fundraisers with promotional materials and using social media.
Fundraising Internships are available for people with ideas, motivation and the ability to spare a few hours a week working from home. Your efforts could prove incredibly valuable for the people of Nepal.
Here are a few examples of the ways in which you can donate:
1. By making an online donation.
2. By sending a cheque made payable to ‘The Mountain Trust’ to:The Mountain Trust 20a High Green Great Shelford Cambridge CB22 5EG United Kingdom.
3. By making a direct online bank transfer.
Due to financial regulations aimed at preventing money laundering, individual direct transfers to our bank accounts in Nepal are not possible. Online transfers to our UK account can be arranged easily. Please contact us if you wish to do this.
4. By making a donation as a gift to a friend or loved one.
Donate here or send a cheque to The Mountain Trust. We will then send you a small gift pack which you can pass on to your friend. We are also happy to send this direct.
Please note: if you are a UK taxpayer, The Mountain Trust is able to claim Giftaid on your donations. This is worth some 25% in addition to the amount you donate meaning that your £100 donation is worth £125 to us. It costs you no more though! Using justgiving.com and Virgin Money Giving means that this process is very simple. If you wish to send us a cheque or make a direct bank transfer then please indicate that you are a taxpayer and that you wish the Mountain Trust to claim the giftaid on your donation. To do this you must provide your postal address.
If you are a higher-rate taxpayer in the UK, you should complete your self-assessment tax form each year and give details of the donations to the Mountain Trust and or any other Registered Charities you have made in order to receive an additional tax rebate from HMCR yourself. If you would like any further free advice, please contact us.
