Sponsoring Children :

The Mountain Trust enables sponsors to help the neediest Nepali children to attend school. These include orphans and children born into riverbed families (who without outside help are condemned to crush stones for building sand instead of attend school from the age of 18 months). We do not act as a conduit for funds to other NGOs working in Nepal since we cannot always guarantee they are above board. We only channel funds to children who we have made thorough checks on and can be sure their need is genuine.

We ensure regular feedback on the progress of the children to their sponsors. Sponsors are free to send letters and modest gifts to their sponsored student(s) via the Mountain Trust. For further details, please ask.

The cost of sponsoring a child is very low - from approximately 60 Pounds for a year's education. That's just 5 Pounds a month.

Sponsors are free to suggest naming the scholarship in their or a loved one's honour.

The minimum commitment is for a year and we ask Sponsors to support their Student(s) for at least three years to avoid disrupting their education.
