Talks, Presentations & Lectures
The Trust
Cambridge University International Development Course
The Trust gave a lecture on developments in Nepali politics to the IDC in 2007 and has been invited to give another talk in December 2009.
The talk led to a radio interview and a research volunteer. Click the picture for details on the IDC.
Southampton University International Development Course
As a result of the talk at the Cambridge IDC, we were invited to give the closing talk at Southampton IDC in March 2009 and were pleased to field some interesting questions as a result.
The Ancient India & Iran Institute, Cambridge
Shortly after the democratic revolution in Nepal in 2006, we were invited to give a talk to an august audience of academics on our observations at close hand and fielded some searching questions.
Bullers Wood Sixth Form College, London
We were invited a year ago to give a talk on our work to around 200 Sixth Form Students - who went on to raise over £1,500 for Nepal. Following our second talk, we recruited several volunteers (to raise funds and translate this site) - and have been invited back for the following year. We must be doing something right!
Great Shelford Primary School, Cambridge
We gave two talks to students at the school, introducing film footage and Nepali musical instruments and thanks to staff and students, raised several hundred pounds - which go a surprisingly long way in Nepal.
Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara, Nepal
We gave a talk to around 300 or so medical students and staff at the hospital on the subject of turning the social, economic and political fortunes of a country around in 30 years - and about the linkages between social, economic and political trends.
Many of our Trustees, Ambassadors, Honorary Trustees and Supporters have spoken on behalf of our work to a far wider range of institutions and audiences than can be recorded here.
We are due in the next few weeks to give talks at Featherton House, Banbury and the Humanitarian Centre, Cambridge (as well as the university's IDC in December).
We are always open to invitation to talk about the Mountain Trust and its work in the field. You only have to Contact Us to ask.
